The Browning Hell’s Canyon Gun Safe Series received the UL Residential Security Container Burglary Rating due to its heavy duty construction and security features. The door on this safe is built with 1 ¼” thick formed door with an inner steel plate. The body of the safe is constructed with thick 11 gauge steel. The HC49 Hell’s Canyon Gun Safe comes with a full 110 minute fire rating that was tested at 1200 degrees Fahrenheit (90 min fire rating at 1680º F). The safe comes with specialty Thermablock fire insulation, which means there are thicker sheets of fire insulation arranged in an interlocking design that minimizes gaps to prevent the internal safe temperature from rising during a fire. This model safe has 1 ⅞” of fire insulation in the ceiling, 1 ⅞” in the body and 1 ⅞” in the door.

Securing the door shut are 9 total (5 active) 3″x3/4″ thick steel MAX locking bolts. These bolts use a 3-way locking system, meaning they lock into the top and both sides of the safe. There are also Pry-Stop End Bolts, which secure the critical door corners. These End Bolts are more than 2 ½ times longer than regular bolts, they attach to a high-strength steel angle that prevents the locking bolts support bar from bending in a pry attack  Standard on the Hell’s Canyon HC49 gun safe is a UL Listed S&G Mechanical Dial Lock. The S&G TopLit Electronic Lock is also available. Either lock installed is protected by a hardened steel pin. Another layer of security, is the Force Deflector™ locking system in the case of an attempted break in.
